Theo joins WordPlay as Director of Community Engagement.
He started his career in law and journalism, before switching to advertising, consulting and social enterprise. His work has taken him all over the world, from New York, New Orleans, Austin, Cairo, Melbourne, to Cincinnati. He’s worked at newspapers, ad agencies and consultancies, including Ogilvy, DDB, TBWA, FCB, Leo Burnett, LPK and Possible. Currently he serves on the CAC Board, Mamluft Contemporary Dance Board, advises Wave Pool Art Center, and is a co-host at the House of a Beautiful Business, a global think tank based in Berlin.
“I’m excited to join an organization committed to the issues I care about most - literacy and creativity - two cornerstones, I believe, of meaningful, beautiful lives and thriving, connected communities. WordPlay does extraordinary work to help build the future through stories. And I think there are few things more important than the stories we tell our young people, and the stories they tell about themselves. They need to find, and honor, their voices, so they can be truly seen.” said Erasmus.
